Maybe you're having trouble sleeping. Or maybe you just want to improve your lifestyle. Either way, you NEED this night routine. It will really improve your mental and physical health, as well as making you feel relaxed and fall asleep quickly.
1. Food and drinks you should avoid
Eating anything 2 hours before you sleep will most likely ruin your sleep schedule as it will make you go into digestive mode. The food you should avoid are: chocolate, meat, Chinese food, fizzy drinks and most importantly, coffee.
2. Tea
Get a hot cup of calming tea. I recommend chamomile tea as this really helps you to be calm and peaceful, allowing a better, more relaxed sleep.
3. Candles
Candles can set a very relaxed mood. Scented candles are of course even better! If you're buying a scented candle for your night routine, buy scents that help you to sleep, like lavender.
4. Positive Lists
Add 2, 3 and 4 together if you can. Sit down at your desk with a scented candle and a cup of tea and write some lists. These lists could include: 'What makes me happy?', 'What am I grateful for?', 'What am I excited for?' and many more.
5. Skincare
Don't make it too extra. Sometimes less is more. So just cleaning and moisturising your face each night will make your skin clearer. I find that doing face masks once a week works well. For some homemade face mask recipes, go to this link.
6. Meditation
Meditation feels amazing. It helps you to relax and get your mind cleared. I find it one of the most effective methods to calm down, especially after a stressful day. The best bit about it is that it only really requires one minute of your day.
